Carrie is a very confident knitter. When Carrie just started knitting she had no hesitaitons about challenging herself! One of her first sweaters was a cabled pattern! And she knit it beautifully. Since then Carrie has gone one to knit many sweaters and many varing projects – you may remember the bevy of knitted rabbits and giraffe. Her latest project is truly astounding. Carrie is going to knit lace curtains for her mother.
This week she brought in her swatch for me to see and offer an opinion on the needle size etc. Carrie really didn’t need any advice – it was gorgeous. Very fine cotton knit on 2.75mm needles. These will be a labour of love. What a gift for her mother and what a project for herself!
Linda popped by this week on her way through town (Linda lives in Victoria). She had her Citron Shawl with her to show. Linda had added an extra row of ruching and had knit her Shawl from some local hand-dyed alpaca. She also added a very thin antique silk thread. It is gorgeous!
I am thinking of offering two options for the next KAL. One, a fairly simple project, a quick knit suitable for a gift for yourself or Christmas giving, and another, a little more of a challenge, something more long term. I’ll keep thinking on it and get back to you next week with my ideas.
Hope that you had a great week.
