Warren – our IT guy – laboured over the blog and managed to recover and restore most of it! We had been hacked by a “robot hacker” and they were trying to take over. Warren banished them! Yeah!! Warren!!
The blog is back and I am back from my vacation – we are both rested and ready to go! The Vogue Knitting magazine was delivered yesterday. Thank heavens that the postal strike is over. Lots of boxes are arriving – fast and furious!
We have a couple of new samples in the store. One Emily knit from the book, Fitted Knits by Stephanie Japel. We have several copies in the store and Emily is already working on another sample pattern from the same book – it is high on our list of must have pattern books. The pattern is the high necked tank top. It is knit in Fiore – 100%cotton worsted – it looks and feels great.
The second sample is from Louet. We have just received our first shipment of MerLin, a 60% linen, 40% merino blend. It is a sportweight and is gorgeous. We currently have 9 colours, and are waiting for one more. The sample is a raglan sleeved hoodie, with very nice detailing at the end of the sleeves and arms. Pattern and yarn are ready to go!
Emily was knitting with “Crayola’s” yesterday. At least that is what it looked like! She was playing around with a new yarn from Berroco. Link – a very heavy I-cord – that knits up big!! Link comes with a pattern in the ball band. Emily was playing around with different size needles to see what worked best – she ended up using the needles and pattern from the ball band!
We haven’t seen too many finished items lately but Bev brought in a couple of gorgeous sweaters that she just took off the the needles.
