Summer Colours are surrounding us now! Our gardens, our clothing, we all seem to be knitting with bright colours so why not create some bright coloured yarns of our own!? We can knit them into the Winter and carry some Summer memories along with them as we knit!
A couple of weeks ago Darlene and I spent an evening playing with Dyes! Food Safe Wilton Gel Icing Dyes!
Out of our play comes a fun play date for you!
So save Thursday August 22nd for playing with dyes.
Come and paint a double sock blank (gives you two matching socks!) and then dye a hank of wool yarn. Class will start at 9:30am and will run until approx. 3:00 with a break for lunch.
Everything you need will be provided: yarn, dyes, tables, brushes and gloves, full instructions and a few patterns to take away with you! Basic socks – The Shoulder Blade Shawl, designed especially for this class, and a hat pattern for the worsted wool yarn.
Please wear old clothing as the dyes will stain. You will need to bring some water, snacks and lunch – or money to purchase a meal from one of the great restaurants in our area.
A quick note on the Wilton Gel Dyes – these are food safe dyes. They will not harm you or the environment and create wonderful bright colours.
Cost is $110.00
Cost includes – hands on instructions, sock blank, wool hank, dyes, gloves, painting tools, patterns, and full written instructions as well to take home for future dying projects
Please note: if the demand is great enough we will run a second class Monday Aug 26th
PicKnit time is once again fast approaching – where did the Summer go?
So mark your calendars with Saturday Aug 24th for our Annual PicKnit. As always we will be at Neck Point Park at the beach Right beside the Parking lot!
