It was a wonderfully beautiful day August 27th. This was the last Saturday of the month and the month was going out in style.
The Picknit has been a part of our Summers for 5 years now. Always held in August and always at Neck Point Park, except one Summer when our beach was closed. Only one Picknit has ever been rained out and the attendance has varied with the years, depending on our knitters Summer Activities.
We talk about our lives, share our projects, and generally have a wonderful time.
This year Melody had a particularly beautiful project to share; Melody had just finished knitting and blocking Renee’s Shawl, a beautiful shawl designed by our Dorothy. Melody had dyed and spun the yarns to create this shawl and we were all blown away!
We also watch the activities on and around the beach – this year was a banner year – at least 3 weddings went by and 2 separate groups of divers kept us entertained.
Perhaps you will be able to join us next year.
Happy Knitting
Lynette
