It is hard to believe that we are already more than half way through January! Its 2021 and we were all happy to leave 2020 behind us!
We have started our year with the January Sale. This is our big sale. It lasts longer than the August sale and always involves more yarn as we are trying to make room for new stock. This year is no different. But we did start it quietly, no fanfare, no big announcement.
Because of Covid and social distancing we can only have 4 customers at a time in store. So the sale will last until Feb 15, more time to come to the store and browse and make plans! Below are a few things to know before you come in.
- our covid hours – 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Saturday
- Please wear a mask – we are all protecting someone we love
- we have hand sanitizer at the door
- a maximum of 4 customers at a time are allowed in the store
- we are happy to ship items or arrange for pick-up at the door
As for New Stock…
Emily has been in buying mode for the last couple of months, trying to keep on top of ordering and managing shortages in supplies. Many mills and manufacturers have been closed or are running at half time and the demand for many items has increased with more time to knit on our hands. So there are holes, but Emily has found some new items to keep us all busy and happy!
One of my favourite new companies is BC Garn. They carry several lines of GOTS certified yarns and we have been bringing them in.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognised requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer.
If you like a colourful Super Bulky 9 colours of Colour Story Bulky have just arrived. This yarn weighs in at 150 grs, 75m and is 100% highland wool, perfect for a quick knit!
We are expecting a new order from Riverside to arrive any day (we have the bill!) – both 8-ply sock and worsted.
Be well and knit happy!
