What is a KAL? I have heard that a lot in the last few days!
For those of you whom have never participated in a KAL – which stands for Knit-A-Long – a KAL is an opportunity to share a knitting experience. Some are mystery KAL’s and some are fun one’s like this.
A KAL is an opportunity to share the experience of knitting the same project, in different yarns, in different colours and all by different knitters. For example Kathryn is taking her project to Scotland, and will be taking pictures and sharing her progress as she travels. Sally lives in Australia and will be sharing how her knitting is progressing there! I will be knitting my version in Undyed yarn and then painting it with dyes. All the same, but all different!
We haven’t done a KAL for a while and decided that it was time for a new one. Check out the Holden Shawlette on Ravelry for the finer details.
The start date is July 2. You will need 4mm circs and 440 yds or 400m sock, 4-ply weight yarn for the project.
If you have any difficulties with the pattern come in and see us, want to share your progress, come in and show. Can’t make it to the store – take pictures and share them on our Ravelry Forum, Pinterest or Facebook pages!
The Pic-Knit Aug 24th might be a great time to bring your project out for a group picture!
The Purple Cap Campaign has started up again – purple yarn for the cap, has to be at least 50% purple – will receive 15% off the purchase price. One ball at a time we will draw awareness to “Shaken Baby Syndrome”!
We have just receive some of SweetGeorgias’ gorgeous Silk Mist laceweight. 60% fine kid mohair and 40% silk in 7 glorious colours!
Happy Knitting
Lynette
