When: July 9th, 2015 – from 10:00am to 4:30pm
Instructor: Lynette Meek
How Much?: $60.00
Where: Heritage Mews, Outside in the courtyard or if it is raining, upstairs in the workroom.
What: A feminine slouchy with a dramatic beaded lace start.
The sample uses small Leaf shaped glass beads that are pre-strung and are worked into the fringe but any fancy bead would work equally well for the fringe. For example – size 5/0 triangular beads or size 6.0 round beads are good options. Teardrop crystals would be beautiful as well. The beads in the body of the hat are placed with a crochet hook as the cap is knit.
Supplies: 280 yds 4-ply fingering (#1) yarn – Sample was knit with Dream in Color Smooshy; 3.0mm, # 2.5 US, 16 inch circs and dpn’s; 0.6mm crochet hook for bead placement; 36 fancy beads for fringe; 150 size 8/0 beads. And don’t forget scissors, measuring tape, tapestry needle, stitch holders etc.
Lunch: We will have about 45 to 60 minutes for lunch. There are quite a few restaurants in the area if you want to eat out, but you could also bring a bag lunch and eat at the workshop.
Breaks: There will be two short breaks as well, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We will supply coffee and tea.
