Saturday was a beautiful day on the West Coast – sunny, but not too hot – and Neck Point was the perfect spot for the Picknit. We could sit in the shade or sun, some of us moved back and forth as whim dictated. There was no shortage of knitting, chatting and munching; projects were discussed and shared and great time was had by all participants.
Saturday was also the last day of the Dorothy’s Spiral Slip Stitch Socks KAL. Not that we will stop making these addictive socks – its’ just time to think about the next things we need to knit – Sharon mentioned that the addiction was still there – she knit five pairs, but really it was time to start something else! If you are still knitting these socks – keep on sharing as we love to see how the different colours blend!
Dorothy was so pleased by the response to her first try at pattern writing (we are calling her our Ravelry Sock Star – 760 likes and counting), that she has written another pattern – Dorothy’s No Name Fingerless Mittens.
Jess is busy organizing the next KAL – watch for her post in the very near future – Start date is Sept 1 – I would start looking for that perfect 400 yd of gorgeous yarn – that is what you will need!
Yesterday we received a box from Mountain Colors Yarn. It contained 5 new colours of my favorite yarn – Bearfoot – and a new sock yarn from them as well Twizzlefoot – 450 yards of gorgeous, merino, wool, silk and nylon! I think that I found my special skein for the next KAL! There were also 2 new colours of Louisa in this box – quite a lot of gorgeousness from one small shipment!
So much yarn and so little time. Fiona’s Haruni Shawl is the stockinet version with only the lace edge. You may note that she has added beads – it is quite beautiful!
The Summer Sale is now in progress and continues until closing August 31st!
